"Writing the tests before the code ... is asinine." I would've agreed with you wholeheartedly three years ago.

But a proper dev lead would have the authority to resolve methodological disagreements like that, and reshape the team if a team member can't get with the program.

I can only speculat as to the difference a proper lead would have made...
